The Chief Operating Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and provides leadership and direction for the effective operation of Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (WMHSAC).

This position is located in South Hedland, Western Australia. 

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated senior executive leadership experience within the business, health or government sector. Key Selection Criteria

  • Proven high level leadership and senior management experience in the business, health or government sector (minimum 5-10 years);
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably post-graduate, in management, business or health-related field;
  • Strong track record in leading multiple business units; 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector and an appreciation of the key operational issues faced by the Pilbara remote health sector; 
  • Demonstrated high level strategic thinking, planning and leadership skills that achieve results;
  • Strong business acumen with sound financial management skills;
  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships and partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Ability to lead organisational change, manage and motivate staff, creation of a positive workplace culture.

Remuneration Package

  • Salary range of up to $170,000 plus superannuation will be negotiated with the successful applicant;
  • Additional benefits include subsidised housing, relocation assistance, motor vehicle, phone, annual return flights to Perth and generous leave entitlements.
