The Organisation

Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (WMHSAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs.

WMHSAC originated from the efforts of Aboriginal people to establish a health service that addressed the unmet needs of Aboriginal people in the Port Hedland, South Hedland areas and surrounding communities.

WMHSAC has over 7,000 Aboriginal people registered and are actively engaged and regularly receiving primary care, wellbeing and prevention services and programs. 

The Role

WMHSAC is seeking a RTO Manager to join the team on a full time basis.

The RTO Manager is responsible for overseeing WMHSAC’s Registered Training Organisation with a strong focus on quality learning outcomes and targeted growth of the RTO in line with the WMHSAC Strategic Plan 2019-24 strategic objectives.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and implementation of training programs to meet contract and budget forecasts, formulating business development initiatives and overseeing the regulatory, compliance and funding contract requirements of being a registered training organisation.

This position will ensure WMHSAC’s compliance with the VET Quality Framework and all other applicable conditions of registration under the statutory guidelines of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) registration requirements and various funding body contractual requirements.

Role Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to hold a valid Western Australian Working with Children Check Card, valid Driver’s License and a National Police Clearance as well as demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in the following:

  • High level communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • High level organisational and planning skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in a training management role within a private or public training organisation;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the standards required for the reporting of data against contractual requirements and the ability to write reports;
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and to approach activities with initiative;
  • Commitment to ongoing participation in education, professional development, evidence based research and quality assurance.
