The Organisation

Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (WMHSAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs.

WMHSAC originated from the efforts of Aboriginal people to establish a health service that addressed the unmet needs of Aboriginal people in the Port Hedland, South Hedland areas and surrounding communities.

WMHSAC has over 7,000 Aboriginal people registered and are actively engaged and regularly receiving primary care, wellbeing and prevention services and programs. 

The Role

WMHSAC is seeking a RTO Trainer/Assessor to join the team on a full time basis.

The position is responsible for the delivery of structured, flexible, relevant and interesting accredited training and assessment services.  The incumbent also provides assistance to the RTO Manager with the planning, developing, preparing and promoting of training and assessment services. 

The incumbent will be expected to comply with the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF), Standards for RTO’s 2015, Training Accreditation Council, TAC, polices and guidelines, Department of Training and Workforce Development contractual requirements, AHPRA Accreditation Standards for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice and other relevant and necessary contractual and legislative requirements established by Training Authorities, Clinical and administrative standards required by external agencies and internal Policies and procedures. They are also expected to demonstrate a positive commitment to the highest achievement level in Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health & Safety, Code of Conduct, Quality Improvement, Performance Management, Customer Focus and Confidentiality throughout the course of their duties.

Role Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to hold a valid Western Australian Working with Children Check Card, valid Driver’s License and a National Police Clearance as well as demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in the following:

  • Well-developed administration and organisational skills demonstrated by an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including trainers, clinical staff and Government representatives;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communications skills;
  • Experience with Power Pro or other similar RTO Student Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of RTO compliance and funding requirements;
  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to complete;
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice demonstrating industry currency and competency per individual unit of competency;
  • Current and valid APHRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
