About Us

Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation providing culturally safe, holistic health and wellbeing services across Port Hedland, South Hedland and surrounding remote communities in the Pilbara.

We are here to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at every stage of life, from early childhood through to Elders, delivering care that recognises the deep connection between health, culture, family and community.

Where We Work

Wirraka Maya is based in South Hedland, with services extending across the wider Hedland region and into surrounding remote communities including Warralong, Strelley and other outreach locations.

Through a combination of clinic‑based care, outreach services and visiting specialists, we work to ensure people can access the care they need, close to home and on Country wherever possible.

Who We Support

Our services are primarily for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities, while welcoming others where appropriate. As a community‑controlled organisation, our priorities are shaped by local voices, lived experience and ongoing community feedback.

Everything we do is grounded in cultural safety, respect and trust. Our approach is holistic and person‑centred, recognising that health is more than physical wellbeing alone.

We work alongside individuals and families, taking the time to listen, understand and provide care that is culturally responsive and trauma‑informed. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate closely across programs, ensuring people experience coordinated care with a “no wrong door” approach.
