Men’s & Women’s Groups
Wirraka Maya’s Men’s and Women’s Groups provide culturally safe, gender‑specific spaces where community members can come together to focus on wellbeing, healing and connection. These groups recognise the importance of cultural roles, shared experience and safe spaces in supporting social and emotional wellbeing.
The groups are led by experienced workers who understand community, culture and the challenges people may be facing. Sessions are guided by respect, trust and confidentiality, creating environments where participants feel comfortable to yarn, listen and support one another.
Men’s and Women’s Groups support people to strengthen wellbeing through connection — to culture, community and shared experience. Activities may include group discussions, cultural activities, wellbeing education and informal yarns, allowing participants to engage in ways that feel meaningful and appropriate for them.
The continued delivery of these groups has supported more than 50 regular participants, reflecting strong engagement and the value of safe, consistent spaces for healing and connection.
