Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance (PAHA)

PAHA is the regional peak body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations across the Pilbara.

PAHA provides leadership, advocacy and coordination to support its member services, strengthening culturally safe primary health care delivery across the region. Through regional collaboration, shared initiatives and collective advocacy, PAHA works to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people living in Pilbara communities.

Wirraka Maya is an active member of PAHA and works closely with other Pilbara Aboriginal health services to address regional priorities and shared challenges.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

NACCHO is the national peak body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services across Australia.

NACCHO advocates for community-led, culturally safe healthcare and supports a national network of Aboriginal health services through policy development, advocacy, research, and sector support. Its work strengthens the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector and promotes improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationwide.

Wirraka Maya is one of 148 member organisations operating Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across Australia.

Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA)

AHCWA is the state peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in Western Australia.

AHCWA provides leadership, advocacy and support to its member organisations, working in partnership with communities, governments and health providers to strengthen culturally secure healthcare across the state. Its focus areas include workforce development, policy leadership, research, and sector capacity building.

Wirraka Maya is one of 23 active member organisations within the AHCWA network.

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Services (PAMS)

PAMS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation based in Newman, providing primary healthcare and support services to inland Pilbara Aboriginal communities.

PAMS delivers a range of culturally appropriate health programs and services, including clinical care, chronic disease management, preventative health initiatives, and community outreach.

As fellow Pilbara-based ACCHOs and members of the Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance (PAHA), Wirraka Maya works alongside PAMS through regional collaboration and shared advocacy to strengthen health outcomes across the Pilbara.

Mawarnkarra Health Service

Mawarnkarra is based in Roebourne and provides culturally safe health services to Aboriginal communities across Karratha, Roebourne, and surrounding districts.

The organisation offers comprehensive, community-led programs that focus on holistic wellbeing, including preventative care, mental health support, and tailored outreach for Aboriginal people across the Pilbara.

As a fellow member of the Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance (PAHA), Wirraka Maya works collaboratively with Mawarnkarra and other Pilbara-based ACCHOs to strengthen regional health outcomes, share knowledge, and advocate for the needs of Aboriginal people across the Pilbara.
