Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is the first Aboriginal Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in the Pilbara region. Our RTO plays an important role in strengthening the Aboriginal health workforce by creating local training pathways that are grounded in culture, community and real‑world practice.
Training at Wirraka Maya is delivered with a strong focus on practical learning, cultural safety and community relevance. Students learn in environments that reflect real primary health care settings, supported by experienced staff who understand the local context and the importance of culturally safe care.
Our RTO is closely connected to Wirraka Maya’s health, wellbeing and outreach services. This integrated model allows students to develop skills that are directly aligned with workforce needs, while gaining insight into multidisciplinary, community‑led models of care.
Recent investment and re‑accreditation activity has strengthened the RTO’s capacity, ensuring training delivery aligns with current national standards and supports future workforce growth across the Pilbara.
